April 2016: Week 1 in AZ

April started with a last minute trip to AZ.  My mom and Tyson drove up through the night to get here.  I love them!  We watched conference as we could, but April 1st Jordan had a Home and Garden show with a booth for State Farm.  So we went and saw him for a bit that day and were able to see Ryan and Tyanne for a bit before they had to leave to go to work.
I am surprised she let him hold her.

The next morning we watched the Morning session of Conference and then left to go to Pocatello to have dinner with Ryan, Tyanne, Robby, and Rebeka.  We had Navajo Tacos, a Martindell (well really a Willis) family favorite. It was finally pretty nice weather as well so we took the kids outside to run around and play while others watched basketball, I believe, on TV.  Ryan and Tyanne have a huge hill right behind their apartment and David and Lizzie loved climbing it and then trying to run down, which ended with Lizzie face planting it in the grass.  But she Loved it because she did it multiple times. Then Ryan brought out some tennis balls and we played and threw them around for a bit. You have to watch the video of David, Tyanne taught him that little trick.

Next morning we said our goodbyes to Jordan and Started out way to AZ!  It was a long drive especially with Children but Tyson drove till pretty late then my mom took over.  We did get to make a stop in Provo to get out and walk around the New City Center Temple. It was beautiful and the kids loved getting to run around a little bit.
I tried to sneak a picture.. OOPS!

Patty Cake with Grandma

We didn't get to AZ till sometime early in the morning and the kids really did great! We spent the first few days in Safford with the Martindell's.  It was so good to be in nice weather and the kids could feel it and wanted to be outside every chance they got. We had to start locking the door to go outside because David escaped a few times, one time the neighbor brought him back... oops!  We paid more attention after that. But they loved playing out side in the dirt under the trees with their cars and playing with rocks. David got to make yummy cookies with Grandma Martindell and he LOVED it!  She was so patient with him!  I need to be better.  He loves cooking with me or washing dishes, but everyday, every meal, I lose my patients and just want to get it done.  I don't know what else I have that is more important, because really there isn't anything more important then him and Lizzie.

Grandma Martindell gave me and Lizzie make overs, well sort of.  Grandma had to paint Lizzie's toenails since she was going to be wearing sandals most of the time in AZ.  Lizzie loved her toes, and so did I.  They were so cute!  They have been covered all winter so I don't really think about painting her toes. Then I needed a change!  I was getting antsy having been shut in all winter and decided to cut my hair!  At first I was nervous of course, but I really just wanted something different, fun, and easy.  My mom did a great job, especially having cut off so much.  The only down side is I can't really do pony tails anymore...

My mom was pretty busy while I was there with meeting for this and that.  So I was lucky and got to go kid free with her a few times.  It was fun to get away and let Grandpa have some time with the kids.  They both loved it!  I got to eat delicious food at a Youth Leader Meeting, and then watch kids dance as I chaperoned.  I feel to young to have done that and just wanted to be out there dancing, but I refrained.  It was also fun to see how crazy I probably was as a teenager, or college student.  I loved dances so I know I was one of the crazies!

The first week in AZ ended with a trip to Benson to watch Darius run track.  It was a long track meet for various reason, mostly because they had trouble with the timers because it was a qualifying meet.  So we were there a lot longer then expected.  The kids had fun until they had to keep sitting in the stand most of the day.  We would go on walks and have them run around every once in awhile, but it was never enough, David wanted to be running around all day. The lucky part about being there all day was that we got to see Grandma Squires and Emily!  They were coming back from Emily playing her flute in a parade.  It was so good to see them!  David loved seeing Emily!  Emily took him for a walk and she said he just ran around and around, never stopping. After awhile we thought maybe they got lost!  Which had actually already happened that day.  He was found luckily with a family from Safford eating grapes with them.  He had just climbed higher and farther down on the bleachers and we couldn't see him. We thought he climbed down to run around so we didn't even think to look in the bleachers.  We ran around every where and the whole time Darius knew where he was but he thought we knew where David was because he was with someone we knew. I finally asked Darius if he had seen him and he just ran away from me. I was confused because he didn't say anything to me.  He finally came back with David apologizing haha.  It was funny now, but then it was pretty scary!  David just knows no strangers.. We need to fix that!! So any suggestions please let me know!
