I first wanted to tell the story of how Jordan and I met.. and fell in LOVE!!!
Creepily.. I knew Jordan long before he knew me and didn't think a whole lot of him, not bad just didn't think of him. Jordan was best friends with a roommate of mine. He was on his mission serving in Uruguay and wrote to my roommate Stephenie often. We were roommates and so of course she told me all about him. She showed me silly pictures of him from high school because I wanted to see what he looked like. He had long hair and looked like a dork! But she had everything good to say about him. Time passed, she went to Utah and I stayed at EAC. I am on the Advanced Team at EAC, so we give tours to people who are looking into EAC and help run the Preview days. The end of my 2nd Year was just another one of those long days that I usually dreaded, and who did I see? That silly boy from those pictures and his dad. I am not a brave soul whatsoever. I am quite shy when we come right down to it. So what did I do... NOTHING! I just texted Stephenie and told her who I saw. That was it. I know I am stalker creepy. But I was just mostly excited to see what she had to say about everything. She told me He might be going to EAC and I got a little excited about it. Just cause I would definitely be his friend.
1st Sunday of Fall semester sitting in church waiting for the wards to be split up and who is sitting right behind me with Stephenie's little sister Ami?!?! Jordan! I turned and talked to Ami about her sister and I didn't even look at Jordan. To be completely honest, he was quite handsome and I didn't want to seem like I had alternative motives, but he was nothing like the guy I saw in those goofy pictures. So afterwards I am walking around saying hi to the people I missed for the summer and Evan Crockett summons me to come meet Jordan Squires. I already knew who he was but I just shook his hand anyway and smiled my best smile and got melted by his and that was all.
I am a work-study for Trish Jordahl, she teaches voice lessons and is over the Fine Arts Department, I also played the piano for Girls Quartet last year and was in 3 different choirs and the Musical. I was sad I wasn't going to get to do any of that this year. The tryouts for choir had been done and since I no longer was able to be in it was just curious to see who was doing everything that year. I am looking at the girls Quartet sheet and notice that Jordan Squires is the new Accompanist.. How perfect is he? He plays the Piano NO WAY!!
So the next week he is in Trish's office and he is playing piano for voice lessons too. First week of lessons he doesn't do much so we were able to talk a little while I tried to work.. that was hard. But I worked and we talked more and brought up the fact that he took my job from the year before. We automatically had something in common and we built from that.
A week or so later I was asked to sing in church. I asked my usually accompanist, she was going to gone that weekend and so was every other person from thatcher who could play because of a farewell talk being at the same time at a different building. That same day while waiting to go sing at the Nursing Home, Jordan had decided to come as well. So I braved it out and went to talk to him and ask him if he would be willing to play for me the following Sunday. He said he would see if it would work out but thought that it should be fine. He wasn't in my ward and he was supposed to be teaching a lesson and would get out just in time to play for me. While leaving from singing we kept talking and I didn't want to ask for his number and I kept hoping he would but he never got the nerve or never thought to ask, but I needed it so I could practice with him. Good excuse I know. So I asked him for his number and texted him when I got home so he would have my number. I told him it was his new best friend. He didn't seem to mind that and we kept talking. I was then invited to play games at Kelsey Caldwell (Williams) House and I invited him. He surprisingly said yes!! I picked him up at SuperStop and he was on the phone with Stephenie, so we both talked to her till we got to Pima and pulled up to Kelsey's house. We had so much fun, although I was such a clutz and would have probably drove away any other guy had it not been Jordan. During a break between games I got up to get a drink of water and ended up slipping in the kitchen and almost landed flat on my back, somehow I caught my self weirdly and popped up like no big deal. Of course Jordan saw, and LAUGHED!! But I wasn't completely embarrassed, just a little bit. He made me so comfortable. We didn't stay long and then decided to go out to my trailer in the middle of nowhere. They had a bonfire and were having SMORES! I was all about the food and chocolate and he decided to come with me.
My family was done by the time we got there since we came late. He was introduced to my whole family, poor guy, and then we hurried outside where it was just the two of us. For most people this could have been extremely awkward but we just talked the entire night and got along extremely well. We talked about Everything!! We got on the subject of going to conference and he said he was going with his cousin, that he was flying. I had been wanting to go to Conference since high school. I wanted to go for my last 5 birthdays at least but never got the chance to go. I was determined for my 21st Birthday I was going to go rain or shine, walk or crawl, that somehow I was going to get there. He invited me to fly with him. At first that seemed like a great idea, then I had to actually think about how much that would cost and did I really want to fly with him to meet his family and spend conference weekend with him.. That took me a few weeks to decide.
Jordan had been dating a girl and had tried to break it off and take a break right before we started talking too much. I knew about her, I knew he had still hung out with her a few times but we weren't dating and they weren't dating but I didn't know who he liked. So about a week before conference I just straight up asked him if he liked this girl. He said no that things had changed and that he had started liking me. I just nodded and he kept on talking.. He liked me, shouldn't I have said it back?!? But I didn't. I didn't for a few days. So one day while driving in my car I just randomly said, by the way I thought you should know that I like you too. So I decided to go to Conference with him and bought my ticket.. I got on the wrong flight and I couldn't take it back... I was such an idiot!! My flight left a few hours before his did going both ways. I would meet his family in Salt Lake City all by myself.
First off starting that trip, my alarm didn't go off. I was sleeping on the floor by the door when he knocked, no bra and hair a crazy mess!! I hadn't finished completely packing and I was running around like a loon! He just laughed and said I looked beautiful. I wanted to slap him!
P.S... The Wedding date was set for DECEMBER 30th!!

We finally did make it to Salt Lake. I met his parents and sisters without any of his help and we got along instantly. They were so funny, we had the best drive thru experience, I couldn't stop laughing! Conference was amazing! I loved being there and being able to feel the spirit that filled that huge room. It is such an amazing experience and everyone should go at least once in their life, if not more!Me, Jordan, and Ethan waiting for Conference to start
We got to see Stephenie and spend an evening with her! It was so much fun, and I got the real permission I had been hoping for. I know how hard it was for her, and I love her for it. Jordan and I took a walk and just held hands through the streets of Salt Lake. I was hoping for a kiss, but it never came but I wasn't disappointed. I loved every minute with him. We definitely became official after that weekend and we spent a lot of time together after that. He went to dinner with my mom and sisters and me for my Birthday. We talked till late most evening and learned so much about each other. He told me he loved me on October 6. YES that is 3 days after my Birthday which was the day after we got back from Conference... my mom was thinking the same thing. After he told me and I spilled the beans to my mom, " Jessica if you get married in December I will kill you!" The reason being they were about to be moving into a house in November and December they wouldn't have as much money as it was, so December was a bad idea and she begged me to try and wait till June. I told her I couldn't make that promise. I had told Jordan about it and the next day we came up with a plan to tease her. We faked we were engaged, just to her, and our fake wedding day was going to be DECEMBER 30th! I told her and she said she knew it!! I then told her it wasn't for reals and she got super angry with me haha. But it was funny to us. Well a few days later we were really thinking about it. I think we even looked at the house we now live in before we got engaged.

On October 15th Jordan asked me to marry him.. I will post a video of the proposal. Yes my parents and his mom were there to witness the entire thing and to see our very 1st kiss!

I know that may surprise a lot of you, especially coming from me. But our first kiss wasn't until after he put the ring on my finger. Yes I know we didn't date a long time, but when you love someone that much and everything feels that right, You don't need to.
