Music and Good News!

Sunday was a good day... stressful at first, but it turned out to be a pretty perfect day. We had our first performance for our ward choir today. We were both nervous and I wanted to just run and not do it. The song Jordan picked for me to play was hard.. extremely HARD!! The first of it was cake. The ending was this huge chord jumping both hands moving back and fourth 4 flat, double F part. I practiced and practice never got it down even close to good but I could stumble through it, some days better then others. Jordan was mostly nervous because we never had very many people show up. Even after the just before church practice we had 4 guys, which was an all time high. Most people it was there first time singing with us and no one was watching or feeling it. We didn't make it through the whole song even once all the way through without stopping and fixing something. We were both a little nervous to say the least. The meeting started and I just wanted to cry, I couldn't play it and I just wanted to go home, I was sitting next to a nauseous pregnant Jamie Tate and I think she gave it to me. I wanted to crawl in a whole. I had a constant prayer the entire time just hoping my hands would work, usually I get shakier and things sound worse when I am nervous. Oh and I didn't have a page turner and I didn't want to ask someone last minute because the end gets crazy, I was worried I might knock them off the bench. Anyway long story short I was nervous. Jordan showed me the scripture:
Ether 12:27 "And if men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them."
It helped a lot.. He always knows what do to or say or show me to make me feel better and make me thing that I can do anything.  And I realize I can with the Lord's help, and I know that I can't do anything without him.  I struggle with that sometimes and I am always reminded and know that it is true yet again that Heavenly Father is there for me and knows exactly what I am going through.  Well.. the choir sang and behold Heavenly Father truly blessed us from our efforts for getting a choir together.  We had an entire row of men!!  We are especially grateful for the missionaries, there was 3 of them and they helped a lot!!  Having the extra help made Jordan a little nervous that they might not know what they are doing and they wouldn't watch him, but it was perfect!!  The choir sounded amazing,  we both walked down trying not to smile so big from how happy we were with them.  It really is rewarding when things work out better then expected!
We then had the pleasure of leading Singing Time in the Primary! (Sister Wright is out of town so we get the good job!)  I love those kids so much.  We played a skittles game with them and they had a blast.  I mostly just like watching Jordan lead, he loves those kids probably more then I do.  It is fun seeing those kids laugh with him.  You can't help but smile and laugh at that goofy man of mine.  The kids LOVE him!  Who wouldn't, I know I do!! We have been subs a lot for the primary.  We have taught a class or 2 and lead singing time a few times as well so those kids know us pretty well and Jordan always gets stopped by the little kids say hi and them showing him something.  He is great!    A little funny story for the Primary kids..  Matthew Orr, he is my new favorite.  Maybe because I know his older brother Nick and every time Matt speaks I think of Nick saying it, I don't know.  Choosing the Right is the Primary theme and for Sharing time they had a game as well.  They grabbed a bag and inside was an item, then the teacher would give them a scenario and they would have to say what they would do in that situation, and hopefully it was choosing the right.  Well Aubrie Wright picked a bag with a little thatcher nerf football in it.  She was asked what she would do if the rule was no throwing the ball in the house.  He brother had the ball and knocked over something she was doing and she had the ball in her hands, what would you do?  I wanted to throw it back at him, I know I would have at my brothers.  But she chose to give it back to him.  Other kids started yelling things that they would do.  Like what my original thought was.  Then the kids got clever and said they would throw it outside.  Then Matthew Orr said, "I would take them outside and then throw the ball at them!"  Jordan and I couldn't stop laughing.  If you saw the kid you wouldn't be able to either. He is just a funny kid, the ones you can't help but love even though they are a little rowdy!
Church ended and we got to spend time with Evan and Lindsay.  We love them!  We had Brownies, Groop (something Evan made) and Ice cream.  Groop, at least I think that is how you spell it, was so good!!  Graham Crackers, chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk and coconut shavings all back and melted together somehow to make the most sugary thing you have ever eaten.  We had to have a glass of milk to help it down.  It was so good, yet horrible at the same time.  I haven't had sweets in awhile, and I am a little on the lactose intolerant side, it was a bad night to say the least.  But so worth it!  All in all it was a wonderful day!  We got up this morning and walked with our favorite newly weds, to help with all the junk we ate last night.  We are happy to have new married friends so close!
This overall week has been a good one.  2 nights in a row I was texted late at night with wonderful news from 2 of my best friends!  Laurissa got engaged to Wayne, and the next night Lori got engaged to Joseph.  I am so extremely happy for both of them!!  I love that I actually know all 4 of them as well, which makes it even that much more exciting!!  I just want to tell them both Congrats and Best Wishes and I can't wait to be there at their Weddings!!
