"Wise Optimist"

This is Jordan for this week. it was good... uh... the end...
i love you

The above is what Jordan wanted to write for the week.  Man of  many words...  I love him!!
Well this week was a busy one, but not for me!!!  It was Jordan's turn to be busy this week.  In the words of Sara.. "It was Jordan's fault!!"  He had vocal recitals to either watch, play or sing at.  He also had a Jazz band concert.  His vocal recital was so much fun to watch.  I am so proud of him!  It was his first time taking lessons and having to perform at a recital where he was the one singing.  He sang a spanish song so he got really into it.  It was about a man teasing his love and it was so great!!  He practiced singing it to me before the concert, it was cute!  He was so comfortable up on the stage, he got a lot of complements afterwards!!
Jazz band was awesome as usual.  Those are some of my favorite concerts to watch.  Everyone did such a great job.  It still amazes me that they can just play there solos off the top of their heads not knowing what they are going to play before hand.  Jazz musicians amaze me!
We had another Reunion this week.  The Eaton Reunion.  It was a little different because neither of us knew anyone.  They were all strangers to us!  As my mother-in-law said to me.  "I would introduce you to everyone but I don't even know who everyone is."  We mostly went for Grandma Beavers.  She was so excited to see everyone, and we were excited to see her.
Funny story though, we decided to leave Friday night after the Jazz band concert instead of waking up early to head to Mesa.  We drove in the middle of the night, with a car we were not familiar with, it was raining, it was windy, and it was the middle of the night!!! We tried calling Grandma Beavers to give her a heads up that we were coming, but she is not the greatest at answering or checking her phone.  We realized as we arrived that we would have to sneak in. (If we would have been smart we would have just woken her up on purpose)  But we weren't smart!  Instead we almost scared her half to death.  The next morning we found out that she had a gun and almost used it on us.  Lets just say we were lucky.
While we were there we found out that a few of the homes were having a garage sale in the adult community that Grandma lives in.  Jordan and I decided we would just go look around with no intentions of getting anything.  We couldn't think of anything we needed.  But we came up to a house that was selling a Christmas tree!!  We couldn't believe it.  I fake Christmas tree that was 6 foot (It will actually fit in our house)  and it was pre-lit, BONUS!!  We had to go get money and come back.  We ended up getting a few other things like a nifty cheese grater, a shelf and a few other odds and ends.  It was fun, old people are so nice.  After making our first rounds and then coming around again all of them would smile really big at us and wave like we had been friends forever!!
We had stake conference this weekend, as all of Arizona did.  It was amazing!!  It is always what we need to hear but it was especially for Jordan and me. Probably because we have been trying to put in an extra effort to be good, but not always making it.  It was nice to get some more motivation and to remember to try our best and to be a "Wise Optimist" as Pres. Eyring said.  We are now looking to the future with hope and determination to be our best selves and to follow the guidance of our inspired leaders.  They are still lead by our Heavenly Father and if we follow them to a "T" we will be greatly blessed because of it.  We just have to remember the small things!!
