4th of July

I have been nervous excited for the 4th of July this year.  It is usually a big ordeal in Arizona with family and friends.  But this year it was going to be just US this year.  To top it off I worked the night before, so the morning of the 4th, had the 4th off and then go back for 3 nights.
We tried to plan a last minute BBQ with some friends, which didn't work out, then we were going to go to Pocatello and spend it with Robby and Rebeka.  I was just way too tired to do much of anything.  Poor Jordan is so patient with me.
So this is how the day really went:
I got home from work, we worked out (played Wii Fit :D), Jordan mowed the lawn, while I cleaned inside.  We finally decided to start getting ready for the day.  We all showered and got our 4th of July attire on.  We went to see if Harvest Bread Co. was open because I was craving a Brownie, but they were closed.  So I suggested going to the park to just walk around and play for awhile.  Before we got there the Kids and I fell asleep.  Jordan decided to just drive around.  When I woke up we were in Archer and he was checking out the town.  We then decided to really go back and just take a walk at the park.  Smith park had a bunch of flags around the entire park.  It was just to walk around and look at them all.

Smith park had a bunch of flags around the entire park.  It was nice to walk around and look at them. David  ran the whole time, he didn't really want to ride.

He didn't want his picture taken.

He wanted to push the stroller back to the car

We then went to the store to get some buns and a few last minute things we forgot about, then went home and started our BBQ and activities. I wanted to make the 4th fun for David and do things we hadn't really done before.  Maybe we crammed in a lot but I think he loved it and we will have to start doing stuff like this more often.
     FIREWORKS:

They ended up looking more like just splotches of red, white, and blue.  We loved it though and had so much fun.

    FLAG:
Mine turned out pretty well and again David just loved it.  He loved the star and was still putting fireworks all over it and swell as himself.

Dinner was done by this time so we cleaned up and took a break and just enjoyed being outside.

We had Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, Chips, and Vanilla yogurt with Blueberries and Strawberries.  It was delicious.  David loved dipping his chips in the yogurt.

We were then ready for our next activity:
DESSERT:

We had graham crackers with cream cheese frosting.  I dyed some of it blue and red and we painted as many patriotic things we could think of so we could keep eating.

We then got the kids ready for bed, Lizzie went straight to sleep, or a nap.  We took David outside to pop some Poppers.  Our neighbors were outside doing some fireworks and we watched a few of those and then went to the front to pop our poppers on the sidewalk.  David loved it.  He wasn't always great at them and it sometimes took him a few times.  He was so sad when it was over and kept asking for "moha".  It was still pretty like outside for 9 o'clock and you couldnt see the glow sticks well outside.  So we played with them inside and David went to bed with them.

We were lame, mostly me and didn't want to stay up for fireworks.  I kinda of feel bad, but oh well, next year David and Lizzie will both love them right?!?

I love this Holiday almost more than Christmas.  I get teary eyed watching fireworks while listening to "I'm proud to be an American" and sitting in the stands of the rodeo.  I missed Snowflake/Taylor a lot this year.  I missed getting up early for the Anvil and seeing the whole town in pajamas.  I missed the BBQ and watching Softball games.  I especially missed my family.  I realized I love the 4th and celebrating our country, the rights and freedoms we have, but most of all that I can live in this country with MY FAMILY and still have these freedoms and take care of my family how Jordan and I feel is best. I am grateful for the founding fathers who put their lives on the line to make a better place for their families, and the men who still do today.  I truly am grateful for the sacrifices you are making for my family.  I loved being with my little family and making new memories on this 4th of July, it will be one I never forget!

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!!
