I can't believe it is already the middle of August!! These last 9 months here in Rexburg has gone by so fast. We are finally starting to feel at home here, but at the same time are still going on adventures and discovering places we probably should have already discovered by now. We are learning slowly but we are getting there.
I have had a week off, unplanned, and it has been wonderful!! I don't want to go back to work, especially back on nights. I am glad I will get to see everyone awake more often though. So a review of our last week how about!! :D Before I get started I do have to say that my last days of work were rough!! I worked 4 days in a row on Rehab and I was exhausted!! My muscles were sore and I was run ragged! So Wednesday was my first day off and I was super lazy, okay for the first few days I was super lazy. Jordan and I finished the first 2 seasons of Arrow, we may have started the first season the week before, I can't remember, but we watched a lot of TV unfortunately. Our kids were definitely getting cranky with us!!

Wednesday night we did have a huge Stake activity and Rexburg Rapids. We had never been. We had wanted to go a few times but were not sure if David would like it. He didn't like the water when we were in Arizona in May and have tried running through sprinklers and even tried the Allen's pool once and it took him a long time to get into it. But we went because it was free and we were getting fed! No cooking for us! We had a blast!! I didn't take pictures till the end when Lizzie was so done and cold, and it was finally getting dark. So we just paced the outside of the pool while Jordan and David played. He was loving the water at this point. He was finally comfortable in the water and laying in the water walking on his hands, and being dumped on by the big bucket.
It took David most of the time to get comfortable in the water, although he did a lot better than I thought he would. At first he just wanted to play were you first walk in and it is not very deep at all. He did go down one of the slides once. He was about to do it a second time but Lizzie and spit up all over my arm so I ran to clean it up and hope to get back in time to catch him but I wasn't and he didn't want to go down. Jordan just picked him back up and brought him out to play again. We walked around the lazy river once holding the kids. It started making our legs burn because we were trying to stay under the water as much as we could because it was kind of cold but still keep walking so we didn't fall over with the kids in our hands. We only went around once. We then ate pizza, David ate a whole piece while chasing the kids next to us up and down a little hill we were sitting on. I was impressed he ate the whole thing. After that was when Lizzie and I paced and David and Jordan played. David was not happy when we finally had to go home. Both kids were crying all the way to the car. Lizzie was hungry and David was just mad!
Thursday was another binge watching of Arrow. So grateful it only has 2 seasons out right now. I believe we made cookies this day. Our last day of sugar freedom before our 8 week challenge started. We made a double batch of half andes mint chips and chocolate chips Toll House cookies. We had every intention of sending them to a bunch of families, 3 of our neighbors and our Visiting and Home teaching families. We ate a lot!!!
Friday came and we were pumped to start our 8 week challenge. I put all the cookies on plates and wrapped them up ready to go. We cleaned and I did all the laundry. Folding and put clothes on hangers. We walked to Smith park and ran around as much of it as we could, We didn't get very far. and then came home and we lifted weights for the first time, we did arms. We went to the park again and this time we actually played while we were there. We played catch with a football and David loved it. Lizzie laid around and had a grand time on the blanket under the trees. David played on the playground for a little bit running back and forth across the bouncy bridge, that is his favorite part, and then going down the big curly slide a few times. He again hates leaving anything fun and cried and screamed all the way back to the car.
Saturday I made bread and Jordan had a Elders Quorum activity at a lake. He says there was only 4 people there. Basically him and the Presidency. I am glad he went. They ate fried chicken and paddle boarded. He said he could only do it from his knees, every time he tried to stand up he would fall off. Only the President was able to paddle board while standing.
Sunday was Church which we didn't stay to very much of. David hadn't taken a nap for the last 3 days prior to Sunday and Church is right during his usual nap time, and he didn't sleep well at all the night before so Church was miserable. Jordan just got called to be the YM Secretary! Yay so he had a meeting with the President to see what he needed to do at noon. So we walked and got there. Jordan took Lizzie to his meeting and David and I went to choir practice. Jordan wasn't there to play the piano so I got to do that, while David ran around. Jordan came in when he was done and Matt let me keep playing. So Jordan watched both of the kids while trying to sing. It went pretty well till David started pulling the trays off of the sacrament table and also somehow he turned on the organ and started playing it! I don't know how he does it!! Sacrament meeting started and we went to the back because David was already screaming. He was just so so so tired. He was just laying on the floor yelling trying to keep himself awake.
Jordan ended up taking him out before we got the the sacrament hymn. Lizzie and I made it through the sacrament but shortly after Lizzie was starting to get grumpy too because she was also tired. So I ended up leaving to hopefully rock her to sleep but it didn't work. So there we were sitting in the Relief Society with cranky children. We decided that it was going to be absolutely miserable the rest of church and went home. That was a hard decision to make. We felt so guilty. Both of the kids were out before we got home. So while the kids slept, we studied our Sunday School lesson and Relief Society and Priesthood lessons together. I must say that was the best decision! I haven't gotten so much out of a lesson in a long time!! It was what we needed and Jordan and I had lots to talk about and discuss. It was great!! We skyped with the Squires, our last time with Rachel being with them. We are so excited for her!!Monday we cleaned and in the afternoon I took David for a walk and he fell asleep!! That night we watched Mall Cop 2, the Squires rented it on Amazon. It is quite the ridiculous movie. Jordan loved it of course. We find ourselves already quoting it or saying you pulled a Paul Blart. I still can't believe I sat through the whole thing!
Tuesday was a busy and such an exciting day!! We went and walked around BYU-I campus. We walked the gardens and checked out the gym. They have free fitness classes and free personal trainers when school starts. We are excited!! Plus the campus is just so beautiful. I loved just enjoying nature while we were there.

In the afternoon there was a Fair at Porter park with a bunch of fun things to do for free.
David was pretty tired from running most of campus but he was a good sport. Lizzie also did great for having to be in her carseat for most of the day. She took lots of naps though. We did photo booths, rode the carousel, jumped in bouncy houses(which I had to get David out of because he didn't want to stop), played ring toss, bean bag toss, and noodle golf. It was great!!
It was such a fun day as a family. We were all exhausted after all of the activities. Although it took us a surprisingly long time to all fall asleep that night but when we did we all slept GREAT!!
Wednesday brought lots of cleaning and trying to prepare for me going back to work. Nothing too great happen besides just enjoying time together. You can't help but laugh and have a good time when you have 2 little kids.
