Howelling Squeaver's Thanksgiving in Idaho

Thanksgiving weekend didn't quite start how we wanted it too.  There was a crazy snow storm the night the Squires were supposed to make it to our house, Wednesday night, but they were not able to make it.  They were able to make it to McCammon that night, where we would be having Thanksgiving the next day, so they stayed there. We woke up early and got ourselves ready to head out. We left a little later than we were wanting to due to weather and icy roads.
What would have been an hour drive was and hour and a half drive.  We REALLY wanted to get there as soon as we could so we could spend as much time with the Squires as we could.
Our drive to McCammon
We were so excited when we finally made it!!  We hadn't seen them since May, besides skype calls. To say Grandma and Grandpa Squires were excited is an understatement!!  It was so nice to have everyone in Idaho!

When we got there we didn't waste too much time before we were taking our Annual Thanksgiving pictures with the Squeavers!  Some of them turned out really well!

The Squires
Of course I ruined our Family pictures by having my eyes closed!!  Sorry Squires!! :D

While taking pictures one of the men cleaning up the roads offered to give David a ride on the tractor/ snow plow.  David did not like it at all.

Our little Squires Family
We took the kids in as soon as we could to get them all warmed up and changed into our Howelling Squeavers Turkey Trot shirts.  The rooms were so pretty.  I couldn't help but give Lizzie a little photo shoot while being so cute!!

Then we departed on our Turkey Trot.  McCammon is where aunt Lisa grew up.  Her Father used to own the hotel we were staying in, but it had been a General Store at the time.  We walked a few blocks down to see the house where she grew up and made our way back.  Not a long walk but a pretty one!  It was so neat to hear all about where she grew up!

We got to meet a lot of aunt Lisa's family, they had provided dinner for all of us traveling and it was oh so good!!

The Howelling Squeavers
Thanksgiving dinner was so good!  I was so sad when it was over because I didn't have room to try everything.  The one sad thing about not doing your own Thanksgiving, is not having leftovers.  They did give us some which was very kind of them.

Our beautiful Nicoles
The rest of the day was filled with relaxing, a snow fight, and Hallmark movies! :D  It was just so fun to relax and enjoy our Squires company.  Mom and I did have some Book Friday Usborne stuff to do.  But we tried our best to keep it to a minimum, and next year we both know better that we probably won't be doing that again.  I felt so guilty worrying about it and not being more present with family.  Good thing we can repent and try again and learn from our mistakes.  But it was still a good learning experience.

David after our snow fight
David absolutely loved playing in the snow!  He loved throwing it at everyone, especially Allie! He cornered her by the door and kept hitting her with the same snowball because it wouldn't break. She was a great sport and kept "dieing" each time he threw it at her.  He also loved his pink gloves.  I gave him the choice of Black or pink and he chose pink.  I love that he is making his own decisions and is growing so much every day!

David was completely worn out by the end of the day that Grandpa Squires got him to sleep easy peasy for a nap!

The night ended with the boys watching Basketball I think it was.  And a girls trip to get food at the flying J.  Unfortunately I don't have a picture of those events, but it was a pretty packed car!!
The next day we headed to Shelley to finally show the Squires our little apartment and then headed to Idaho Falls to do some shopping.  The Beavers went to Rexburg to show the rest of the kids where Taylor goes to school.  We miss being closer to Taylor!  They came back by the house and dropped off some of Taylor's things till she comes back in the Spring. The shopping took most of the day, like most shopping days do.  We had lots of shopping for Rachel in preparation to go back to Illinois to school.  Grandma talked me into getting a coat for me and a sweater for Jordan from her for Christmas.  We made it back and had grilled cheese with Hot Chocolate!  Yes, the Squires dip there grilled cheese in Hot Chocolate, I tried it.  It was not my favorite, but I did like drinking it along with my grilled cheese.  Definitely missed Tomato soup though!  That night was also goodbyes.  Rachel had an Early morning flight which had them heading back to Salt Lake at 2am.  We were so sad to see them go!  It was WAY too short!  We miss them a lot already.  Hopefully next time will be a lot longer!
